Race Bible
Course Maps – Download the GPX course files here. Make sure your GPS will last your entire ride. If using a phone for navigation and to record your ride, make sure you have a backup battery with you. We expect racers to follow the course using the GPX file. The routes posted on Ridewithgps.com are directional and may be easier to follow:
15 Mile
35 Mile
50 Mile
First Aid – None. You are responsible for your own safety while riding your Individual Time Trial (ITT). If you need assistance, you will be treated as a general park user.
What You Should Carry with You – Water and food will be your biggest concern when doing and ITT. If you have friends that are willing to support you at various locations on the course, your ride will be easier than those who won’t. You should carry all the things you would normally carry on a long mountain bike ride when no support is available. We suggest a spare tube with sealant, patch kit, plug kit, and a small container of tire sealant. It is also suggested that you stash a spare tube in your drop bags for every feed zone.
Race Rules-
1. Ride your course in one day between January 9 and January 18.
2. Register for a day pass with the State Park online.
3. Record your ride with a GPS device.
4. Stay on your route. You may start at a different location than the Round House. This will make it more convenient for anyone who will need to camp in the Tom Mays unit (west side of the mountain) the night before their ITT.
5. Feel free to use friends for assistance in supplying food and water.
6. Follow all State Park rules.
7. Respect other State Park users. They should not know that you are “racing”.
8. Submit your GPS file to BikeReg before 8 pm January 18.
Parking-
The nearest parking will be the Bowen Round House trailhead parking lot.
